The Liberty County School System is planning to buy eight new buses, each with a seating capacity of 72 and two of which will be special needs buses.  Currently, 50 percent of the existing buses are over 18 years old, and 60 percent of them do not have air conditioning.  The buses will have a one year bumper to bumper warranty along with a power train warranty.   The Liberty County Board of Education approved the Hurricane Dorian make up days. During the storm, LCSS student and faculty were excused from Sept. 2-6; four days in total. To make up for days missed, BOE allocated Oct. 10 and Oct. 11 of 2019 as makeup days.  LCSS is also planning to replace the air-cooled chiller in Lyman Hall Elementary School with a high efficiency, rotary scroll 40 ton chiller. The chiller will have freeze protection, a one year parts and labor warranty, a five year compressor warranty. The story highlights a “growing number of tutorials” on the video site about how to remove keloids—large scar-tissue growths—by cutting off their blood supply with a rubber band. The videos are graphic: They depict people wrapping rubber bands tightly around keloids on their earlobes and show how the scar tissue turns black, shrivels up, and falls off over the course of a few days.
