Virginia-based Potomac Metals Inc. invested in wire chopping technology to improve its wire processing capabilities. The system arrived in four metal export containers. It wasn’t necessary to remove anything because the equipment inside was preconfigured. All workers had to do was bolt the containers together. For something so simple and ready-to-go, Cable Box—a wire chopper manufactured by MTB—has opened new markets for Potomac Metals Inc., a private scrap metal recycling company headquartered in Sterling, Virginia. Potomac Metals bought its Cable Box toward the end of 2017 through Buffalo, New York-based Wendt Corp., a supplier and integrator of scrap metal processing equipment. The system, up and running by February 2018, has allowed Potomac to make clean chops of No. 1 insulated copper wire (ICW) and insulated aluminum wire and to separate the wire from its plastic covering. The company had never chopped wire before adding the Cable Box. According to Wendt, the MTB Cable Box can manage other hard-to-process wire and materials, including ICW from auto shredder residue (ASR); aluminum conductor steel-reinforced (ACSR) cable, BX (flexible metal conduit), underground residential...

With the Christmas holiday in the rearview mirror, many families are looking for a place to

With the Christmas holiday in the rearview mirror, many families are looking for a place to recycle their Christmas tree. Chelan County Public Works has listed several locations that people can go, but PIO Jill Fitzsimmons says make sure you get the tree ready first. “When dropping off your tree, you need to make sure it’s free of all tinsel and decorations. Depending on where you’re dropping it off, like if you live in the city limits of Leavenworth and are going to the city facility, then you’ve got to limb your tree and cut those limbs to no more than four feet in length. We ask that you do the same if you are also taking your tree to the Dryden Transfer Station.” Currently you have JavaScript disabled. Tesla And Autonomy: The Possibility Of Fast Progress

Tesla is using imitation learning to train neural networks to copy human driving behaviour. Applying imitation learning at the scale of 600,000 vehicles is, in my opinion, a promising approach. Autopilot interventions provide a way for Tesla to pull the needle from the haystack. That is, to find the right training data amongst 20 million miles of driving per day. Autonomy development involves a mix of slow, manual processes and fast, automatic processes. This makes it hard to evaluate or predict progress. 1.2m Led Linear Lamp Wholesaler Quotes/PriceList Elon Musk’s prediction that Tesla will solve full autonomy in 2020 may turn out to be wrong, but it isn’t ridiculous on its face. An analogy to DeepMind’s work on StarCraft shows why. If the technology works as hoped, the global robotaxi industry’s combined valuation will eventually reach the triple-digit billions, if not trillions. In November 2018, tech reporter Amir Efrati published a story in The Information revealing that Tesla (TSLA) is using a machine learning technique called imitation learning: Led Linear Light, Led High Bay Light, Led Linear Fixture, Led Linear Solution – Coreshine,https://...

We are off this week, so here are 27 craft beer articles to be thankful for

Let’s be honest, 2019 has had its awful moments, but during Thanksgiving week we shove that awfulness to the side and reflect on the many things we can be thankful for. For instance, we gave ourselves this week off! We might even be allowed outside! Three cheers for the Pilgrims or whatever! We assume you will miss us though, which is why we’ve compiled this list of articles for which we are most thankful this year — everything from cool craft beer charity news to sustainable initiatives to helpful new equipment to naked people and dogs. So, grab a sixer, kick back and try to slowly enjoy re-reading these while we revel in our laziness this week. Fargo Brewing Co. came up with an arf-inspiring idea for its not-for-profit event 4 Luv of Dog Rescue. Shout out to Northern Plains Label for helping make this possible. In a study that wraps up three years and 13 growth cycles of several popular hop varieties, Bauerle is upending conventional wisdom hop growers have followed for decades to coax their plants to flower. His results, published in Scientific Reports, open up new possibilities for indoor, sustainable, local production of hops. Craft breweries continue to add new low-cal bee...

More mature than Bulletstorm, Outriders still channels Polish goofiness for an interesting shooter-RPG.

More mature than Bulletstorm, Outriders still channels Polish goofiness for an interesting shooter-RPG. Imagine having to follow up a game where the catchphrase “son of a dick” was coined. This is the task of People Can Fly, makers of the memorably crude Bulletstorm, with their first new game since Gears of War: Judgment. Some of the faces behind Bulletstorm are still kicking around at People Can Fly. Art director Bartosz Bieluszko (a character artist on Bulletstorm), design director Piotr Nowakowski (level designer) and senior narrative designer Szymon Barchan (another level designer) are all lending their talents. Two core members of the team, director Bartosz Kmita and lead writer Joshua Rubin, signed on after Bulletstorm’s time, and from what I can tell, they’re eager to set Outriders apart from what’s come before. We were introduced to Outriders in a flashy E3 2019 CG trailer, and again in this week’s “reveal” trailer. After playing it for a few hours, Outriders manages to be the kind of 1-3 player co-op third-person shooter-RPG only People Can Fly could make: A fast-paced, super power-infused shooter that straddles grimdark and laughably ridiculous. The general running an...

ClayXYZ 3D Printer and Clay Extrusion Device Introduce User-Friendly Ceramic 3D Printing

Bound Metal Additive Manufacturing Market Outlook – Metal Binder Jetting and Bound Metal Deposition There have been many clay 3D printers over the years, from the EXtrace and the LUTUM to the 3D PotterBot and the WASP delta style clay 3D printer. But I bet they don’t all come with their own 3D model library, like the user-friendly, desktop ClayXYZ 3D Clay Printer that just launched on Kickstarter. The ClayXYZ printer, named for the ClayXYZ company that’s running the campaign, combines 3D printing technology with reusable, natural clay material so users can create their own detailed, textured ceramic artwork. Ceramic artist John Fray, the founder and CEO of ClayXYZ, wants ceramics to be available and open to everyone. Fray said, “When I first started researching, the technology of 3D printing ceramics was an exciting and interesting one. But, the desktop 3D printers on offer were unable to live up expectations. Industrial 3D printers could make that but these would be too costly to produce. So I decided to work with the professional team, spent more than one year designing ClayXYZ, the best desktop clay 3D printer. Our goal of designing ClayXYZ is to want more people to experienc...
